About IGF Mobile
The CMP Game Group established the Independent Games Festival in 1998 to encourage innovation in game development - and the main IGF Competition is now in its tenth year.
In the same spirit, the IGF organizers have announced the first-ever IGF Mobile competition, a brand new contest set up to promote innovation in portable games, from cellphone games through other mobile devices to PSP and DS titles. There are plenty of unique mobile-specific possibilities for games, and we're excited to help honor them.
This sister event to the IGF itself will have its own IGF Mobile Pavilion featuring the finalists, positioned next to the IGF Pavilion at Game Developers Conference 2008 next February, and the winners will be announced at a ceremony during GDC Mobile (and again honored during the main IGF Awards on the Wednesday night).
The first year of the competition is to award a total of nearly $20,000 in prizes to deserving indie creators in its main competition,
